Lunch With the Legends

Lunch with Legends, March 5*---In honor of Women’s History Month, the League of Women Voters of Moore County is planning ‘Lunch with Legends’ for Thursday, March 5, 2009. After a delicious lunch of chicken cordon bleu, at Belle Meade, attendees will be treated to a wonderful program. The Sweet Adeline’s Quartet, ‘Southern Connection’, will perform. Then three women, dressed in costume, will read from the actual writings of Abigail Adams, Eleanor Roosevelt and Carrie Catt. Then there will be a professional rendition of American the Beautiful. Both men and women may reserve a ticket, by calling Ginger Finney, at 673-1330 by February 19. The total cost is $30 each. Funds raised will support voter education efforts of the League. The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization with the goal of improving government and impacting public policy through citizen education and advocacy. On 3/5, the doors to the Belle Meade ballroom will open at 11:30; the luncheon will start at noon. The tables seat six to eight, so get a big group together so a whole table can be used.
