Organic Growing: Raising a sustainable, healthy harvest
A four-week intensive course beginning in October -- see Classes page for details

Raft Swamp Farms is a 150-acre tract of land in the Antioch District of Hoke County, North Carolina, bordered on the west by Raft Swamp Creek. On June 9th, 2005 the property came under new ownership; it is now becoming a sustainable organic farming endeavor.

Formerly part of the D.H. Hodgin estate land, the previously cleared portions of the property have been farmed conventionally in recent years. These acres have become the Raft. The remaining wooded and wetland acreage will remain as is.

The Raft at Raft Swamp Farms is a non-profit organic farm incubator program devoted to the revitalization of the family farm. Raft stands for Restoring Agriculture, Family, Tradition.
