Southern Pines Neighborhood Association

Dear Neighbors,

The Southern Pines Neighborhood Association will be holding an important organizational meeting this Thursday, September 14 at 7 PM at Mims Studios in downtown Southern Pines, which is down the brick walkway between Rhodes Realty and Denker’s Dry Goods – third door on the left. The agenda is to consider the role of this group. All residents and friends of Southern Pines are invited to attend.

Also this week, several significant town meetings are being held.

Monday: 5:30 at the Douglass Center, Penn. Ave.
Planning Board PUD Ordinance Work Session Meeting

Tuesday: 7 pm at the Douglass Center, Penn. Ave.
Town Council Meeting

Many residents have expressed interest in a proposed development project by Pine Needles and related to this, the creation of a PUD district to accommodate such a request. For those of us who will be affected by the outcome of this issue but may not understand the more technical side of it all, here are two links below for a basic introduction.
